K8m-800m motherboard manual

The manufacturer, First International Computer, Inc., has the manual on their ftp site. The direct link is: ftp://ftp.fic.com.tw/motherboard/manual/socket754/k8m-800t/25-11110-00.pdf . Google K8M-800M manual in the future in case the link changes.

I hope this helps.

Here's the download page for the motherboard manual,

http://www.elhvb.com/mboards/OEM/eMachines/manuals/index.html

Column in middle, 3rd file from bottom.

This is a Zip file. A Zip file is a Compressed file. Used to send large amount of information more easily.
Has to be decompressed, or 'unzipped'.

After you click on the blue -> FIC K8M-800M file name, a small window will come up-
Opening K8M-800M_manual.zip

Make SURE there is a Green dot in the small circle, to the left of Save File.
IF not; click in the empty circle to the left of Save File.
No go below in the small window, and click on OK.

A small download window will come up.
Allow the file to fully download all the way, then DOUBLE-click right on the file name.
(Yellow folder icon with a zipper on it. K8M-800M_manual.zip is to the right)

In the next small window go to the far Left, and click on -
Extract all files.
At the bottom of the next 3 small windows click on Next, Next, and Finish.

In the last small window DOUBLE-click right on the file name ->
K8M-800M_manual
(Next to the red Adobe PDF icon)

There is your motherboard manual in PDF file form.

For an example;
The front of your computer is the Front Panel.

The area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the Main wires from the Front Panel go to; is the Front Panel header.

Motherboard installed in computer case, the Front Panel header is at the Bottom/Right.
The Front Panel header is Orange in color. (Page 20)

Two rows of contact pins.
5 pins across the Top row.
4 pins across the Bottom row.

The Top row is numbered ODD.
The Bottom row is numbered EVEN.

Starting on the RIGHT side going across to the Left; Top row,
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8.

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive activity LED light.
Pin 1 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
If the HDD LED is dim when the Harddrive is active, switch the wires around.

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for a Reset switch, IF a Reset switch is used.

C) Pin 9 is N/C. Not Connected.
Reserved for factory use. Probably a 5 Volt test point.

D) Pins 2 and 4 are for a Power On LED light.
These two pins are used for a Single color, Power On LED light.
Two wire LED light.

Pin 2 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
If the PWR LED is dim when the computer is on, switch the wires around.
There is ALSO a jumper used for this LED light. More on it at the end.

E) Pins 6 and 8 are for a Power On switch.

To the Right of the Orange Front Panel header, (F_PNL), is the PW_LED header.
[Page 20 to right of Front Panel header. -> PW_LED
(Power LED, 2/3 Pins) ]

3-pin Black header. Sits Vertically.
(The Orange - Front Panel header, sits Horizontally)

This is used for a 3-wire Power On LED light.
Used for a Dual Color - Power On LED light.

One example is if the computer has Turbo Mode, and Normal Mode.
Green color usually for the Turbo Mode, Yellow color of the LED for the Normal Mode.

Starting from the BOTTOM going UP;
Pins 1, 2, and 3. (3 at the Top)

A) Pin 1 is for the Positive ( + ) wire. [Signal]

Jumper block for the 2-wire Power On LED light, and 3-wire Power On LED light; Page 13 - Set System Jumpers
(Actually it starts on Page 12)

6-pin header to right, of 3-wire Power On LED header.
Has Blue jumper caps on it. Two of them.

The bottom row is numbered EVEN.

Starting on the RIGHT side going towards the Left; Top row,
Pins 1, 3, and 5.

I need the wiring diagram for emachine model D6405

Usually it is in very small print right on the motherboard next to the pins, use a flashlight and/or a magnifier to see what order the pins go in. The hard drive light will say HDD, power will say PWR, etc.

Hi I have a Emachine T3103 desktop, & I had a friend take a look at it, & when I got it back the red & white wire that says H.H.D. LED was unplugged from the motherboard, it is a K8M-800M....

There should be similar small wires plugged into the motherboard. This one will plug in next to them. The layout for which pins to plug these in to is usually printed on the motherboard itself right next to the pins. You might need a magnifying glass and flash light to read them. This wire controls the light on the front of the case that blinks when something is being written to the hard drive.

eMachines T3302 desktop computer?

According to my information it uses an FIC K8M-800M motherboard.
(First International Computer, Inc.)

(Looking in-between the brown AGP expansion slot, and the first white PCI slot, you should see K8M-800)

http://www.fic.com.tw/product/motherboard/AMD/ficimages/k8m-800m.jpg

IF, my information is correct about the motherboard used, I would like you to download the Motherboard Manual for it.

(I haven't worked on one of these puppies in my shop yet, so I don't know if the eMachines T3302 uses an FIC K8M-800M mobo. MOtherBOard)

http://www.elhvb.com/mboards/OEM/eMachines/manuals/index.html

Under the Filename heading in the Middle, scroll down, and Left-click on - FIC K8M-800M

This is a Zip file. (Compressed file for easier transfer)

Watch the download progress bar, and let the file download all the way. ( 1 minute, 45 seconds for me)

Where the file will go;

Windows XP:
It will go to your My Documents folder (Start > My Documents), or to a subfolder in My Documents. Downloads.
Or it may go directly to your desktop screen.

(Yellow folder icon, with a zipper in the middle. K8M-800_manual
underneath)

When you see the file, Double-click on it.
Go up to the left side of the screen.
Left click on - Extract All Files

Left-click on Next, and Finish.

In the small window left-click on the PDF icon with K8M-800_manual.

Barring you cannot download, or open this Zip file.

Orient the motherboard in your view, so we are both looking at it the same way.

Processor to the top.
Ram Memory slots to the right.

Bottom right corner has the CMOS battery, and the Front Panel header is to the left of the battery.
Under the Front Panel header it has F-PNL

Your pinout of the Front Panel header is upside down.

There are 5 pins across the top.
There are 4 pins across the bottom.

The Top pins are numbered Odd.
The Bottom pins are numbered Evenly.

The numbering starts from the Right side of the motherboard, (CMOS Battery side), going towards the Left.

Top row, going from Right to Left,
1, 3, 5, 7, and 9

Bottom row, going from Right to Left,
2, 4, 6, and 8. (There is No pin 10)

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HDD LED. (Harddrive activity light)

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for the Reset switch.

C) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On light. (Indicates power is on)

D) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch. (Turns the computer on)
