My printer will not turn on

Run the Maintenance Utility of your printer and make sure the printer is set to use the black ink cartridge.

You can download the installation software from the epson website. If you have a paypal account contact [email protected] and they can take care of it for 20 bucks.

It could be a hardware issue.
Check first if the printer is working fine. Keep on holding down the paper button while you turn the printer on. Let go of the paper button when the power light starts to flash. if it printed out a color test pattern successfully, check if you are using the corrrect driver.
Tell me more if you need assistance in trashing and re-installing the proper driver for your printer. Include the full version of the operating system you are using too.

Epson Notes That Your drivers are:

In-Box = Drivers are included with Windows Vista. Just connect your Epson product to your computer and follow the on-screen instructions that Windows Vista displays to guide you through driver installation.

My spin on it:
Try unplugging the USB cable and plugging it back in with the printer on. Vista should rediscover the printer if its been removed, and is no longer in your device manager. If this seems to do nothing of use, try switching the USB cable to a different port on the computer.

It sounds like you have a faulty installation of the printer driver. Uninstall the printer using the Control Panel - Uninstall Software. Turn off the computer. Make sure the printer is connected but switched OFF. Restart the computer and when Windows is up and running, insert the printer installation CD. When instructed, turn on the printer. Everything should now be OK.

If you need anything other than what they offer, they usually have a technical support contact. It does appear that drivers for Windows on this specific model number are readily available.
