What is the FM radio stations call letters and city location? There are no . (point) numbers in the states that are even as far as I know. All odds as in 79.9, 80.1, 80.3, 80.5, 80.7...etc.
Testimonial: "oh! i seem to have a U.S. system here in SA. i bought it used and saw that it came with a step down converter because the voltage was not our usual 220-240V. it seems that the tuner is also for the US market. is there any way to change it so it picks up the full range including xx.x frequencies? it seem odd that a tuner would be restricted to certain frequencies. thanks!"
sorry , me again. i got a little mixed up. this tuner definitely does do .point. numbers but not all of them so it would still have issues in the US as it does here. if you want 98.0 you can't get it. i had another device a while back that had a setting that would allow tuning to be either every 0.1 or every 0.5. i had to set it to the one that allowed finer tuning so it could pick up all the frequencies. hopefully this bose has the same setting somewhere. please help! thanks!!

SOURCE: Bose 321 won't turn on
I'm amazed at the range of comments regarding this system; they range from unbridled enthusiasm to some **** words.
Before I try to help, if I am not familiar with a specific model but have a clue to what the nature of the problem might be, I research the item to see if I find some support for my suspicion.
You might keep tabs on some comments I found relating to a possible class-action lawsuit due to the array of problems that have appeared with this system.
This link will give you a sample of them:

SOURCE: bose 321 system reads bad disc on all dvds
if will not read a laser lens cleaning disc , then it will need to be opened up and the laser lens will need to be cleaned manually with the cleaning solution and a cotton tip , but do it easy and dry the lens with the cotton tip
if that don't do it then the laser mechanism will need replacing

Well, it seems that this may be a common issue with this BOSE unit. My 321 GSIII was working fine as well for about a week. After a full frustrating day of switching, disconnecting, reconnecting cables and resetting the unit and TV several times, I was forced to call the BOSE Technical. They tried to help with the situation over the phone by directing me to do just about everything I did before I ever called them. After about an hour of their unsuccessful help, they left me in saying that I will now have to run Composite cables because my TV will not connect for some reason through HDMI even though it was working for a short time. AHHHHH...I custom prepared the walls in my new office to accommodate non-exposed cables and wires and now BOSE is saying to expose Composite cables. Tomorrow, I am going to connect the Composite cables to confirm if the 321 will now work that way (for curiousty). I will then call BOSE back and demand a replacement unit. I will keep all in the loop with my progress of this situation.

Chapter 6:
Using the tuner
Listening to the radio
The following steps show you how to tune in to FM and
AM radio broadcasts using the automatic (search) and
manual (step) tuning functions. If you already know the
frequency of the station you want, see Tuning directly to a
station below. Once you are tuned to a station you can
memorize the frequency for recall later-see Saving
station presets below for more on how to do this.
1 Press the FM/AM button to select the tuner.
2 Use the FM/AM button to change the band (FM or
AM), if necessary.
Each press switches the band between FM and AM.
3 Tune to a station.
There are three ways to do this:
Automatic tuning
To search for stations in the currently selected band,
press and hold TUNE ?©/?? for about a second. The
receiver will start searching for the next station,
stopping when it has found one. Repeat to search for
other stations.
Manual tuning
To change the frequency one step at a time, press
TUNE ?©/??.
High speed tuning
Press and hold TUNE ?©/?? for high speed tuning.
Release the button at the frequency you want.
Improving FM stereo sound
If the TUNED or STEREO indicators don't light when
tuning to an FM station because the signal is weak, press
the MPX button to switch the receiver into mono
reception mode. This should improve the sound quality
and allow you to enjoy the broadcast.
Using Neural THX
This feature uses Neural Surround™, THX® technology to
achieve optimal surround sound from FM radio.
• While listening to FM radio, press AUTO/DIRECT for
Neural THX listening.
