serial numbers dont matter that much, just use this. the computer only needs the number to ensure you didnt make it up (or stole the cd from someone)

Cakewalk 4, is not compatible with Windows 7. I got this information from this page.

When I bought my music creator 4 just a week ago, the product serial number was on a yellow sticky sheet on the back of the DVD sleeve. As you install, you will be ask for a registeration for which you will go on line to request. This number will be e-mailed to you. You are allowed to use the program for thirty days before you have to register it after which it will stop functioning until you register the product.

you have to check your driver node. Change to MME, run wave profiler and restart application. Also check playback timing master and record timing master and be sure that your sound card is listed under both. That will do it

It's in your online account. Sometimes it takes a few hours to show up depending upon when you ordered, but log back in to your online acct with Cake and it'll be under "My Registrations" If its not, just give a buzz. My friend works there and they are upgrading internal systems and sometimes a SN gets dropped accidently. They are really good about it tho.
