Its 5A6..... You have enter the oven into sabbath mode when try to set the clock. To exit sabbath mode press and hold the clock button for 10-15 seconds. When you set the clock yous press the clock button but dont hold it in.
about to do the same for a friend - hers has two visible screws through the floor at the back of the oven. the new plate has several additional holes. i have not yet removed the old, but looking at other google entries, i may just need to take out the visible screws. not sure of the model, but it is a free-standing kenmore gas range. gary
you didint post a model number, but within your user manual to clear the sabbath mode,if yuou donr have manual post your model and manufactuere and ill try to find for you, ( a call to the manufacture should also assist you in resetting the mode
