You can log onto your email by going to the web page of your email provider and logging on from there. For example, if you have a gmail account, log onto Google, hit the Gmail icon on the top right corner of the screen, and your account will appear.

Log on to your Gmail account, click the avatar in the upper-right, click "Account," click "Security," then click "Change password."

You might have forget your password
reset your password using these two options
1. reset your password using alternate email id
2. reset your password using security questions

The only thing you can do is register yourself as a new user on google and try and register your old gmail account again and if it says that it is in use then send a request for a new password as you for instance have forgotten your password and this may help to get your settings in order again. First try going opening your browser of choice and going to mail.google.com. Ideally the page should load and you should be able to log in there. If your page times out (you get an error instead of the login page) then it's possible that some program on your computer is blocking the connections, or that your router is blocking the connections. Try ending any programs you're not using (including any that might be hiding in the icon tray) one at a time until you can get access to gmail again. If you can't find any that are blocking it, it might be a setting on your router.
