The power on problem is a cap in the power on circuit. The loss of signal for an areal is delayed. Nothing you can for DIY.It needs repair shop visit.

SOURCE: Hard time turning on tv. I turn it on, green light flashes a few times then becomes solid green. No picture or sound. I turn it off and light becomes red. I do this at least 5 times before tv will

There are some capacitors on the main boardthat are low quality. You can buy a capacitor repair kit on Ebay that contains a set of capacitors to replace the offending ones - about 15-16 bucks. I soldered in the new capacitors and the TV has worked perfectly since.

Why 42 inch 42LC7D WANT COME ON

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Lg 42lc7d-ub slow startup

Hello,

This is a very common symptom indicating the the filter capacitors on the power supply board are beginning to fail. These parts are used by the power supply to stabilize the power from the board but they overheat and start failing after a few years of use. If you can do a little soldering then you can do the repair yourself by replacing the filter capacitors of the board. Below you will see a picture of what the capacitors look like when they start to fail.

And here is an article about failing capacitors:
http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/capacitors/

There are 9 capacitors on your board to replace and once they are replaced the unit should be as good as new.

Here is a link to information showing which capacitors your board needs and the locations of the ones to replace.

I hope this helps,

My LG 42LC7D tv wont turn on. The green led lights but no picture or sound

There could be several things going on, I would start with having the power supply checked. I've worked on several LG sets from that time frame that all had bad capacitors in the power supply causing all sorts of issues

Hi my name is mike. I have a question about my LG 42LC7D TV. Its slow to turn on most times and the screen isvery dark sometimes. what could be the problem?

Hello,

The problem is from the lamp of the television. It is going bad that is why it is always taking a while before the television turns on and the screen being dark sometimes.

Therefore replacing the lamp of the will do the work for you.
