I am having problems finding who built this product. Is this a Haier product? Depending where your purchased it will help. Places like Home Depot will sell brand names but they be exclusive to the retailer and not directly supported by the manufacturer. If it is a Haier product send an email to Haier support. A remote control would be considered a replacement part.

Is the compressor again getting hot once you turn the temperature down? Will the refrigerator cool if you turn the temperature to as cold as it can get? Reason I ask is I am trying to decide if it is the thermostat or a defective staryt relay. Even at the cost of parts I would be careful and sure of what you are going to do here. Haier is not well know for quality products or customer support and there are other brands names out there that will support customers much better than Haier. Not trying to say bad things about your refrigerator I just hate to see when people invest into something and then get left holding something that Haier will not help with and does to all of their customer. From what you have described it sounds like the room temperature sensor may be at fault. But, be usre you're seeing the room temp, rather than the temperature you have the unit set on.
