You will want to check and ensure that the power supply is of the correct power. For older model boards 250 watt power supply is needed. If its a 300 watt power supply then you should have a newer board. Further more, make sure that if you are using a surge protector that it is up to date. From experience, older power bars can blow up a brand new power supply. Check the back of the power supply to see if there is a switch. Some provide an option of 115v and 250v that may be an issue as well. If you can provide more information on what is happening I might be able to provide more information for you.

Tv wont turn on, and its making a clicking noise

That usually indicates that your power supply has gone bad. The clicking sound you hear is your power supply not getting enough current to turn on your screen. Could be a simple fix as a bad capacitor but not sure? If you can pin point that problem being your power supply, it is some times cheaper to just replace the power supply board but it depends how old your TV is and if the power supply unit is available.

I have a emachines 820 and the power supply unit went so i get a new one and replaced it but now my pc will not turn on the info i have on the hard drivers is there any way of saving it or have i lost...

you have not lost everything, the first thing you want to do is to confirm that all is plugged in properly with new PWR supply, newer supplies have a yellow and black power cable coming from them that is part of powering your motherboard, if needed there will be a little plug near the CPU somewhere that it will go in, short of that being your problem, you will have to move HDD to another computer as a slave and retrieve your data that way

Louder whirring noise when turning on computer

Usually on startup the fans work a little harder then slow down. On newer computers they still have noticable fan noise. Most of what ou hear while the machine is running after start up is the power supply fan. When it starts to go bad you'll hear it all the time.

No power on my emachine

Open the machine - try to change the SMPS.
Hope the Power-oN button is not the problem.
Else there could be many reasons.

Emachine power supply

Unfortunately, E-Machines are well known for their power supply problems. I have a room full of them.

Let me guess, you can hear something rattling around in the power supply, right?

When this happens, a component blows cleanly off of the board inside, and sends a voltage spike to the mainboard.

With any luck, the hard drive logic board wasn't damage, and you can recover your data with another PC.

Pc won't turn on

Hi, Are you able to test or repair some of this your self? is so use a multimeter and check the power supply,If you get no reading then remove the unit and open the cover, on the printed circut you will find a fuse either glass or ceramic. Replace this and also clean all dust from the unit replace the cover and reinstall in computer. If this fails you may need a new power supply unit. Regards mistyman
