"This will probably work for most Orion V-chips... I figured it out looking at another manufacturer's instructions, on my Orion it was:
* Turn the volume down to 0
* Change to a blocked channel (where it asks for V-Chip password)
* On the TV (not from the remote) hold the volume down button
* (While holding volume on TV) hold the '0' key on the remote for between 2-10 seconds...
* The screen should unlock, and you should save no V-Chip restrictions.
You can now use your manual to find out how to set the restrictions you want."

The V-chip has a 4 digit numerical password in order to keep older children from changing its settings. However, it can be overridden by savvier youth who read the television's manual to find out how to reset the password to 0000 (built into the V-chip in case the parents themselves forget the password that they set).

I have an orion 1991 13in tv and I set the parental code and i can't remember what I set it to and 0000 doesn't override the code I set. What can I do???
i have the same problem with the v-chip password i can't reset the password i tried the suggested solution vloume to 0 and holding the volume button on the tv while holding the 0 on the remote it didn't work. is there any other solution.
