2210 all in one. Cartidge 56 causes error. "Remove and check cartridge". Other cartriges fine. Using refills. HP doesn't suppport problem. Usually gives me problems but usually works after fiddling with it. Would like an absolute solution.
done it all, tried downloading old and new software, formward, turn on and off, cleaned cartrdges, etc
sorry but been there did that. Using refills. Put backup cartridge in working now. Went back to store. Owner said the new conventional wisdom is cartridge has a set # of drop or releases in it. Once that # is reached the cartridge is done. Had a gizmo he bought and confirmed the limit is right. Seems the #56 is baffling everyone. If you get a refill get the latest date on the cartridge possible. it is printed there

remove the cartidge from the printer and clean up the bronze dotted spots on the cartidge as well as the place where the cartidge is placed inside the printer... then turn on your printer it will ask you to insert the cartidges ..... hope it will owrk for you if does not you may try another cartidge if does not work either its time to call the Manufacturer and get the printer replaced....
“Lexmark does not support the refilling of its ink cartridges. Refilling the ink cartridges can cause them to leak, thus clogging or even damaging the print head. Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under warranty”. Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.
If it responds ok with the old cartridge then the problem is with the cartridges' chip not the printer. Probably the manufactor has a problem with certain cartridge chip (contact them!). I would suggest to use the original at the problematic spot if it works without a problem.
