SOURCE: CADKEY 97

I had a similar problem trying to run under Windows XP and 2000 Pro.

I deleted the file named opengl32.dll from the Cadkey directory and now everything works fine.

By the way, Cadkey would load up and it seemed to be OK until I needed to type anything in, then it would make a warning sound and ignored the key strokes.

I hope this helps and works for you.

SOURCE: I have tried to install CADKEY 97 in a Windows 7

yes can be, just follow these steps:

Not compatible or not working well with windows 7?

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver/application you installed is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't you worry, You can still use your old installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Just remember that before installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer/application first, then choose "troubleshoot compatibility". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.:D rate and vote for me:))

I have Windows XP on my computer mow but have one older program, Cadkey 97, that will not work on XP and requires Windows 98. What I need is a work around to use CK with XP or a way to have XP and 98 on...

Try using the XP compatibility wizard. Start > Programs > Accessories > Program Compatibility Wizard. There are ways to dual boot 98 and XP, but there are a lot of details involved. It requires a lot of research. Best to do a Google search for "dual boot windows 98 and XP". Here is one result:

Error accessing invalid language directory when opening cadkey

I got the invalid language error recently rescuing a copy of CADKEY 19 from an old WIndows 2k server for an engineer where I work.
I eventually was able to get rid of the error message by searching for the string CK19 in regedit and altering keys with invalid paths to them from the previous install.
CADKEY 19 seems to store a lot of static paths in the Windows registry, I had to update at least a dozen or so.
Using the Find Next feature with regedit made finding the keys and updating them purty easy.

Dimension 5100 and windows xp pro SP3 clean install

Well if you have it installed on the computer and cant get past the Windows logo. Put the SP3 disk in and do a repair. Make sure you hit -R and not the repair button after clicking continue. Well the directions for a repair will be on the screen. That is my thoughts on what you should do. If you have already done this, then I'm not sure where you should head to next. Hope this helps!!
