Can I use excell of microsoft office in data base programming?

Excel is a spreadsheet program. You can do lots of programing applications with Excel. A more advanced database managing program within the Microsoft Office set is Microsoft Access. It comes with Office Pro and above. Otherwise it is sold separately.

Here are some basic tutorials on Excel:

I cannot open .docx and xlsx files.

The files extensions you have listed, .docx and .xlsx, are files that have been created using the Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 suite of programs. Specifically .docx is a Microsoft Word document, and .xlsx is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. You will have to have either of the Microsoft Office programs mentioned, or you can also use the Open Office suite of programs. This is a free program that you can download at the following website:

I have Microsoft Office 2007 which I purchased from Dell and installed late last year or earlier this year, however, the Excel keeps getting lost and I cannot open documents which I have done or received...

Use http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ to find the serial number. As for the corrupt Excel program, you may need to determine what exactly is the problem there.

Go to Start, All Programs, Microsoft Office and see if Excel is listed. If it is, then click on it to launch it. Does it open? If so, then go to where your excel spreadsheets are saved to (e.g. My Documents) then right click an Excel spreadsheet & click on "Open With". Select Choose Program. Select the Microsoft Excel. If Excel is not listed, click the browse button and browse to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12. Click the Always use the selected program to open this type of file checkbox. Click OK

It says office application version does not match every time I open my documents.

***

When opening a Microsoft Office program or file you may get a message that says “Office Application Version Does Not Match Error”. This is most likely caused by having the Outlook 2007 Business Contact Manager installed on your computer. Many computers that come with the Office trial program installed will have this on their computer from when it was new.

There are a couple of ways to get rid of this error. First you can install the update from Microsoft that gets rid of the error.

Or you can go into Add and Remove Programs (XP) or Programs and Features (Vista) and uninstall the Outlook 2007 Business Contact Manager if you don ’t use it. It won’t affect any of your Office programs. You may get a message during the uninstall process that it can’t remove it from your Outlook profile but just click Ok and finish the uninstall.

Bit of an odd one this error message. It is issued when you start Microsoft Word 2007 (or indeed Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007 or Publisher 2007) on a computer that has Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager installed. You can download a a patch that will stop this error message appearing here.

Hope this will solve your problem
