SOURCE: Treo 650 Hotsync Problem

For error 4014 On the PC go to palmone/user...../ and rename the "exchange" directory to .old When you hotsync again it will work without the error and will create an empty directory. Worked for me with my new LifeDrive and TomTom software. For error 4004 The only thing that worked for me.. Was to do a hard re-set and then to reload each non-Palm problem, one by one, checking each time to see that I didn't get that same 4004 error message. This was time-consuming, but it worked.

SOURCE: Converting from Palm Pilot TX to iTunes

There is probably a compatibility issue between the TX, Pocket Copy, and Iphone. TX is pretty picky about what can be used to transfter information. They only recommend Outlook and the one that is included on the TX CD.

TX and IPhones are different systems as well. You could try to get the files exported from the TX into a CSV and see if you can import the files into Iphone that way, if it will import them.

Good luck on that one.

SOURCE: Transfer contacts and calendar from Palm to iPhone and iCal

The best way is to transfer the Calendar and Contacts to Outlook. The iPhone can then be synced with Outlook.

Unfortunately, tasks and memos do not transfer. You will need to find other 3rd party apps that are supported on the iPhone and transfer your data to them.

Two examples are:

1. Evernote - This is good for memo. You can export your memos and then import them into Evernote. unfortunately, when I did this, it was a bit tricky. I even had to write a little PERL script to create the format that it wanted.

2. RemembertheMilk - this is a todo application

Putting contacts on the SIM card

When I migrated from my Palm Centro (best smartphone ever) to my current BlackBerry, I did the following: 1) Export Palm contacts from the Palm Desktop software to CSV (comma separated values or tab-delimited text) format. 2) Import the CSV file to your Google Contacts account. 3) Wirelessly sync Google Contacts to your new phone using the free Google Sync app (link below). 4) Verify data was transferred appropriately.
Google Sync works with iPhones: http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/
You should be able to follow the same process for your Palm Calendar by exporting your Palm Calendar from the Palm Desktop software to a file (save the exported file to your desktop, or an easy to find location on your computer), then import the Calendar file into a NEW Google Calendar, not your primary calendar (in case there's conflicts or problems, you can delete the secondary Google calendar without losing your primary Google calendar items). Google Sync should allow you to choose more than one Google Calendar to sync with your iPhone.

I need to transfer my contacts etc from Palm TX to ipod

There is a way to convert the Palm .dba file that comes from exporting to CSV or vcard format. There is a google help forum that discusses this for the G1, but it is the place that has the link to the converter.

Hi, not really familiar with Plm devices but insert your sim in to the palm go to contacts and look for Copy to sim or something similar. Sim cards have limited memory, varying from 100 to 250 contacts and 30 to 50 sms.Last would be one by one.

Word and excel document transfer

I'm afraid so. Documents to go uses a seperate converter program that work with the desktop installer program. That way you change documents on you Palm as well. I know mine was pretty pricy when I added the database system for Access files. That was the main reason why I needed it at the time.

Just got a Blackberry a few weeks ago and was surprised at the pricetag to do it. I think it was running $75.00.

Palm sire 72 Cant charge my battery. I am away form my home computer so do not want to loose the contacts Is there somebody in london uk who can look at the palm thanks Jimmy

Bluetooth or beam them to someone else's palm, have them sync it with they're computer and export it in a format like Comma Separated and transfer it to a flash drive of yours.

Or, if you have a laptop with infrared or bluetooth, transfer it to your computer.

Or, if you're really desparate, take a picture of each screenful of information (If you would normally use you palm as a camera and therefor not be able to take the picture, then buy a disposible camera). Or you could just right them all down by hand.

Help

I had the same issue.  I finally upgraded to the current version of Outlook.  That seemed to solve the issue for me.  Syncing a palm is not easy.  I will never buy a Palm again.
