Re: No sound or picture
You may have a problem with the switching power supply or the high voltage power supply. Because these two power supplies output hazardous voltages I would suggest that you take this to a shop for repairs.

It sounds like your screen inverter has just gone >bang< unfortunately.
Most screens inside use 2 main circuit boards, and you are most likely going to have to change one of them.
It's possible also for it to have been just the backlight bulb making the loud pop noise too. The inverter may have given out too much power and blown the bulb (a lot like you hear when a house bulb goes bang).
If you can't actually hear any TV sounds (normal sounds like music, voices etc. when they should be there), then it means the problem is more serious, and would need a specialist repair place to check out the electrical circuit inside.
STK ICs 2 of them, example STK392-110.also CK hori out put transistor and little blue capacitor 2Kvolts it feeds back to Hori Transistor. Mats has STKs

My Toshiba dlp 62hm116 was used for 3 months then stored for 2 years, I turned it on yesterday and it makes a loud grinding noise which I think is probably from the exhaust fan area and the picture is black except white at both vertical sides. It worked fine the last time I used it 2 years ago. Any ideas?
