I inserted a blank DVD in my Panasonic DMR-EZ49VEB and now it sounds as if it is stuck. I've tried ejecting it and no luck. Powered off and on a few times and no luck. Of course there's nothing mentioned in the manual as to opening the DVD tray manually. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

SOURCE: Samsung DVD-R135 / R136 - Will not load blank discs

Hello, First be sure your using the correct disc DVD+ or DVD- RW etc.

I would recomend using high quality discs as players/recorders are very picky about cheap media. Try using Imation name brand discs. They read well in most anything. If it has worked fine & then started having this problem I would first check to see if your using the same discs that have always worked with it & if so then you may want to open the unit & clean the laser lens with a cotton swab lightly soaked in rubbing alcohol. Especially if it has been smoked around or is in a dusty environment.

SOURCE: DVD Player won't open

Try this. This works on some brands and models.

Power up the unit. Using the remote, press and hold the 'STOP' button for about 5 seconds. Release and press the 'OK' button.

SOURCE: how to finalise dvd recording

Press the menu button on your remote - go to finalize disc - follow instructions. Note that VR discs can be played with many if not most DVD-players without finalizing. In fact I have had problems finalizing and unfinalizing discs back and forth. If the disc manager displays only unfinalize disc, the disc is already finalized.

SOURCE: disc is stuck in the tray - samsung dvd R130

Without knowing more of your specific situation, it sounds like the disc is physically stuck and is blocking the motor mechanisms from ejecting. There should be 1-2 screws on each side & one at the rear of the player to remove the outer casing. When you open it, any obstructions should be obvious. The screws should be easy to figure out with an arrow pointing to them stamped into the medal, kindof looks like: =>

Panasonic dmr-ez49veb wont play dvd-r discs

I would suggest contacting Panasonic support. You can search for their website/home page for their contact numbers. Typically, manufacturers maintain help, support, upgrade, forums and FAQs/knowkedge bases to help customers troubleshoot their appliances/equipment. I have used similar methods, previously, to update/upgrade the firmware on an "obsolete" DVR and it has lasted 4 more years (still working).

Look for a tiny hole in the cover of the Disc drawer (about the size of a pencil lead). Straighten out a paper clip and push it into the hole - should mechanically release the drawer so you can retrieve the disc.

i have a panasonic dvd rcorder / video combi model DMR-EZ49VEB. I have recorded something on DVD, which is 4 hours in duration, and I want to edit the recording and split it into parts. I follow the manual, but when I press EDIT the option to split isnt even there? I am confused, it is SUCH a difficult manual to deciphre, but the only 2 options there are "Edit title name" and "Change Thumbnail". The others are not listed. the disc is not copy protected or locked and is of sufficient duration to split the contents. HELP PLEASE :(

Disc won't eject, stays in "RECOVER" mode

look on the face of the machine, near the dvd slot. what you are looking for is a tiny hole, the size of a pencil lead. some players, not all, have this manual release. If you are fortunate enough to have one of these little holes straighten out a small paper clip and use it as a wire to insert in the hole and release your dvd.

Panasonic dmr es10

Some DVD recorders don't like certain types of media. Does this happen with all blank dvd+rw disks or just with that specific brand? If it's that brand then you should just use a different one.
