I have a road tech ha90 digital music player . inserting a sd card with mp3 and wma format music . i get a erro message.

First, many SD storage music players do not support HCSD. Is the SD card bigger than 2gig? This could be the problem. Try a smaller SD card.

Are there any upgrades for the Harley Davidson Road Tech HA90?

Not really, The problem with the older radio is that the way they fed the power to the mp3 side was to back door it through the FM modulator, thus resulting in a lower volume than theradio. Unfortunately there is no fix for it.

HARLEY DAVIDSON ROAD TECH HA90

I own the player on my 2004 HD Softail Deuce. I have a catalog of various sizes of sd cards from my original 64mb up to 2gb. The problem you are having could be that you have the music in WMI instaed of having converted it to the mp3 format with your windows player. Be sure to use the lowest quality when converting to the mp3 as you will not notice the difference in the playback. Also do not be surprised that you cannot get what you think on a 2 gig sd card. One of my 2 gig cards has the entire Led Zeppelin studio catalog including some various Robert Plant solo songs from his various albums. I buy my sd cards from Microcenter here in Ohio for around $7.00 each. The local wal-marts are making a killing with 512mb for around $15.00 each, so shop around for the cards you need.

The WMA files are probably copyright protected, and this device was not set up to read them. I would try converting them all ot Mp3 format - you will probably have better luck. Here's the official Harley page that I found:
Here's the best bet - there are pdf instructions for upgrading the software and a few other functions, but no user's manual for it per se:

Reformat the card. No experience with this unit, but reformatting of memory cards usually corrects issues such as this.
