Blurry/Hazy picture on Philips Tv

Hi - 2 and a half years ago i bought a Philips 36pw8719 crt from currys. Over the last number of weeks the picture has become blurry/hazy and it seems to be getting worse. Its not that noticeable when there are closeups but any scenes at a distance are not good. Any text that appears on screen is awful though. I have phoned Currys and they have told me that because it is over the year long guarantee period there is not much they can do(typical really). I have seen somewhere else about a G1 intermmitent short problem(no idea what this means). I paid approx £900 for the set in the UK here. Any ideas?

As your problem is the picture has become blurry/hazy 1 it sounds me that there is a little sparking near high voltage section that is near flyback transformer.please get it check. 2 if it is ok then focusing anode wire going to crt base from flyback transformer is not making proper contact due to some foreign material deposited on it. please call tech person if you ae not aware of it as tv is a very high voltage device.

Issue is with main tuner since you have two of them. At least the tv is ok but that tuner is fubar.

Philips

if you bought it under one year ago then the retailer should be obliged to either replace it or repair it. I would look into this further, ask to speak to the manager or something casue when a tv switches itself off it indicates an error inside and turns itself off to prevent further damage.

This isnt a simple fix for someone not used to electronics but here it is.
CONNECT A 390OHM RESISTOR BETWEEN W129 (GROUND) AND PIN 56 OF THE MICRO, PRESS BUTTON 7 ON THE REMOTE FOR A MINIMUM OF 6 SECS.

Red picture cannot adust with convergence

You have bad CRT Fluid, the green and Blue tube need the fluid changed. This is a messy and possibly dangerous to the tv proposition, you will want to call someone to change the fluid, you will probably spend $450+ for the repair, but it should look pretty good when done, possibly better than it has looked in years.

36" tube tv. picture fuzzy and out of focus

It sounds like you may have a G1 intermittent short in the picture tube, which unless it is still in warranty would not be worth repairing.

LG 2010 Plasma 50PA5500 good sound, no picture I'm new, and having much the same problem. My LG50PA5500 TV has been working flawlessly since new. The other day, while in the midst of watching a broadcast DTV channel, the entire screen suddenly and silently went dark; sound, channel selection and inputs all work OK. I have checked connections and voltages from: stdby, pwr supply board fuses, psb output voltages to Zsus board and its fuse, output voltages from Zsus to Ysus and its fuses. All precisely normal !! I've also checked voltages to the other control boards, etc. No indications of cap problems, though they will need to be tested with tester in tomorrow's mail. Also a transistor tester coming. The ONLY slight indication of anything amiss, is a (what I would call!!) light "toasting" (no pun, sorry) about 1.5" in irregular diameter towards the center from the copper coil of the Ysus board. I almost "feel" that that would be consistent with fair wear and tear of 9 years use, but of course, heat is the eternal enemy of electronics. I have very closely examined both X and Y boards, front and back for any damage indications. I have not yet touched the Y buffer boards. If that is the next step, what is it that I should check and the sequence to follow???? I'm kind of at a standstill, and need some direction before I start swapping out boards left and right. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx
