Of course if you feel you don't have the technical knowledge to open your blender and check if ti's a "carbon-brush" failure, you should take it to a repair service
not sure what that could be,if you have no power at all,i would first check and make sure the fuse is ok.
or try plugging it in another outlet to to make sure its not the outlet thats faulty.
If the blades do not turn and you notice hot base hot or a burning smell, unplug the power base and let it cool for an hour. The powerbase will reset once the unit is unplugged.

strawberry/banana num num !!!
This can be coming from discoloration and/or food acting on the rubber gasket. Be sure to take the pitcher apart, removing, the screw on base cap, the blade mechanism, and the gasket to clean your blender after each use. Acids and liquids can act on the rubber causing a discoloration and this will seep into your pitcher. This should take care of your problem. If it does, please come back to Fixya and rate my solution!
Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
Well the mal-function can be due to numerous reasons. You need to choke out each possibility one by one.
Loose Connections ( Check for all the connections to the circuitry and motor).
Bad Starter Button ( Check for the button switching using a Multi meter).
Bad Motor Winding (Motor bushes or winding can be the bottle neck).
Check for the quoted possibilities and you'll soon find one good reason for the mal-function.. Feel free to ask anything regarding the trouble.
i found broken solder connections on triac on circuit board. it's the part with the cooling fingers that surround it. pencil soldered the cracked connections; now works fine.
