There is no reason even if the wire was to small it would still allow ssound.make sure you have good connections.

dont use will give problem later know for bad engine noise

take two out puts from your cd player and run them in the inputs of the equalizer and believe me they are going to work.Remember if the outputs from your CD player are of high note (out put)the volume should be kept at minimal to avoid the rumble.

it seems that you have got a bad equalizer
you should better replace it if possible
