My machine isnt stitiching after I heard a pop inside the machine while I was sewing. I titled it several ways to get the pieces that I heard tumbling around inside and I found out wheere they bellong but I don't see the correlation of those peices and why it is not stitching. It still rotates and the needle still goes up and down. what could I do to fix it if it has anything to do with those peices and I have pictures too, hopefully they will appear along with this post. Well the picture cannot be uploaded on here but if you would like to see them pleaase help me find a way to get them to whoever will be able to solve this issue. Quick FYI this machine is only a week old.

Do those pieces look like broken part or they are some kind of screw or something? the best way for you, I think, is return to factory for repair.

Goes into zigzag when straight line sewing

it depends on the name brand of the machine, call some sewing machine repair shops tell them what it doing and ask about repair prices and then decide what to do .

My machine will not sew on it's own.

Wife says it will likely have to be repaired by a machine specialist in your area. Sometimes when that happens, the time gets off and needs to be repaired. It works when you turn it because your going much slower than the speed the foot pedal goes.

I need to sew on spandex

Cut the pants longer than you need, and try them on. Adjust length, making sure you have enough for the hem.

Use a ballpoint needle, and a narrow zigzag, stretch stitch, or use a serger.

How do I adjust the tension for the backside of my stitich?

Top tension about 4 or 5, pull the bobbin thread through so there is slight resistence, if it is too tight, slacken the screw on the bobbin case about a quarter of a tuen anti clockwise and test and keep doing it until you get it right

The machine will not sew by using the foot peddle. It will work by using the hand wheel. It sounds like it is in filling the bobbin mode but isnt.

The belt may have come off or may be slipping and the only way to check is to get inside the machine which will be very difficult if your machine has a two piece body

Need a straight stitich How to make the machine do a straight stich...not reponding to settings

not sure which model you have but you should have a stitch length control and a stitch width control. locate the stitch width control and set it to zero.

if you have done this and the machine continues to zig zag the zig zag mechanism inside the machine is most likely seized up. try lubricating all linkages inside and move the control lever a few times to see if it will free up.

if not you may need a tech to service the machine.

Unable to adjust tension,

Sounds like the bobbin thread is not inside the tension on the bobbin case. This normally happens when the bobbin is upside down. Insert the bobbin and pull on the thread. The bobbin should turn counter clockwise.

Machine moves normally but does not sew

Okay, I know that you are an experienced sewer and have probably already checked, this but I had the same exact problem today and cleaning the shuttle race fixed it.
