When oven timer comes to zero then the heater goes off. At this time light may remain there or goes off depending upon the model. Sometimes it is linked to opening and closing of door and actuating a micro switch. So first thing is to check this micro switch.
There are a couple of microwave ovens out there where after it has finished cooking, the light and fan continue to run until you open the door. Then the fans shuts off, but the light remains on. When you close the door, then the light shuts off. If the light and fan go back on when you close the door, then you have a bad door switch.
To close an oven door when it's in the locked position andthe door is open, press and hold the oven door light switch while followingthese simple steps:
Program the oven to self-clean.
