I have a chance to get an Hitachi DZ-580A camcorder but the software won't work on my operating system (Windows 7). What can I do?

According to the manual it will only record images from other sources, not video. Page 82.

Looks like Hitachi doesn't have any software available on line to do it. You will have to contact them to get one.

You can use abobe software for free to try to get them or goto Kodak.com and use their free software as well.

If it doesn't see your camera as a disk drive in my computer, you can get a card reader to retrieve the pictures that way.

I have provide a link below to downloads of all of Hitachi’s' DVD camcorder manuals. I have never heard of the dz-mv 5000e model, but there is a # of dz-mv model camcorders with manuals for download. I hope this helps!

they have downloads just go to yahoo and write something like this online download for hitachi dzmv550a then hitachi .com will show up they have down loads of drivers there

You can view it through the windows media player. Open my computer, find the file in your dvd drive. Right click and select open with windows media player.
To do any editing you will need to convert it from a vro file to mpeg
