The trouble would be a failed infinite heat switch. This is the adjustable switch you are using to set the element to low, medium or high.

**Use extreme caution if you are making the repairs yourself.....Turn off circuit breaker and verify power is off with a meter. 240VAC is present at the switch. In addition, the glass top and elements are very fragile.

No operating instructions

the top one turns the broiler elements on 1 is for the center element 2 is for the 2 side elements and 3 is for all 3 elements. The next dial down turns the electric on or off . the third dial is the same as the top except for the bottom elements

New Heating Element; Has Power But Not Heating Up

Let's go over a few things:
  • Your unit uses 220 volts to provide heating.  Some elements are wired to one of the two 'legs' of the 220 giving you 'low'.  High uses 220
220 consists of three wires...two 'hot' (red and black) and a neutral which is white.  Neutral to hot will give you 110...hot to hot 220.  Measure accordingly and use care!  Neutral and the frame of the stove are effectively the same terminal...for safety.
  • You say some of the wires are burnt or a fuse is blown.  They need to be replaced with proper wire...not just any kind.  There is high temp insulated wire available from many ACE and other home stores or parts shops.  It needs to be thick enough, too.  Make all connections carefully and fully onto clean terminals.  Tighten clockwise.
  • Check the voltage coming to the element on various settings as above.  If you only get 110/120, you have an open supply issue which needs to be found.
Look for: loose wires, corrosion, burned insulation to ground.

Kitchen Aid KESC 307 hbs4 electric range control

CESAR, THE OVEN CONTROL IS THE CLOCK,HOWEVER, ON MANY KITCHEN AID RANGES, THERE IS AN INLINE FUSE 15AMP, THAT IS IN THE OVEN CIRCUIT. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT THE INLINE FUSE BE CHECKED FIRST BEFORE CONDEMNING THE CONTROL.

DAVID, THE GLASS TOP ELEMENTS ARE CONTROLLED BY THE SURFACE SWITCH FOR REGULATING TEMPS. THE SWITCH WILL TURN THE ELEMENT ON AND OFF TO REGULATE TEMP. I WOULD SUSPECT THE SURFACE SWITCH(WHAT THE KNOB IS ATTACHED TO) AS THE DEFECTIVE COMPONENT. THERE IS A HIGH LIMIT SWITCH THAT IS PART OF THE ELEMENT. IF IT WAS BAD, THE HOT SURFACE INDICATOR LAMP WOULD BE LIT ALL THE TIME.

THE ELEMENT IS NOTHING MORE THAN A COIL OF WIRE THAT HEATS WHEN CURRENT IS PASSED THROUGH IT.
IF IT WAS BAD, IT WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING AT ALL.

Inoperative oven electric elements

It could be contact problems where elements are pushed into in oven. Elements are usually plugged into heavy copper lugs at the end of both element ends. should look at manual for this unit to see how to remove and check for blackened ends. {Make sure to unplug before any work}
