You can no longer adjust the pickup; haven't been able to in a decade. If it's not reading the disk, most likely the optical picker(laser) is worn out and must be replaced. For more information, or should you have any further questions, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me directly through the website. Thank you.

I have a playstation 3 and every game crashes or the playstation wont even pick it up at all the strange thing is it picks up and plays dvds no problem at all.

the bluray laser consists of two laser diodes one is for bluray and one is for regular games and movies... you bluray diode is dead or dieing which is why nothing bluray will work and dvds will... ill bet if you put a ps1 game in it would work too. sony will fix it for $150 or you can find plenty of craigs list fix it guys that can do it cheaper...but be careful of who does it.

Blu ray wont play

That machne does not have a bluray drive & that is the simple reason why you can not play a blu ray disc. This is what your drive supports.
Plays Standard or multiregion DVD's & Audio CD's. Records DVDs 8x & CDs 24x & Dual Layer Super Multi. No Bluray or HD DVD,

If you were sold the machine as a bluray laptop then take it back & demand your refund.

sounds like the laser is out of alignment, you can either try to adjust the laser or you can search ebay or other places for a replacement laser assembly for your model.

if you want to tackle the adjustment of the laser assembly then.

but first try this.
