WHEN I SET THE BULOVA QUARTZ WORLD TIME CLOCK, THE WORLD TIME WHEEL STOPS AND DOESN'T MOVE AFTER 6-8 HRS, AND WON'T TURN MANALLY. TO TURN IT YOU HAVE TO TURN IT IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THE WORLD TIME WILL AGAIN KEEP TIME FOR A FEW HRS THEN THE SAME THING HAPPENS.

Perhaps it needs the bulb, but there is also a good possibility that the lamp fan is getting clogged and shutting down the set. This is NOT the fan you see in the back, instead, it is above the lamp, and is a small blower-type fan, that tends to clog with dust. You CAN check this, when you open the lamp door,you can see the blower wheel, and if it is all dusty, it needs to be cleaned out--but do NOT just blow it out, or you might clog the engine!! It needs to be removed, and cleaned out of the set.

But first...if the blower is not too dirty...try another lamp.

On the "Alarm" screen click up (the top screen should show not numbers now), then simly click mode until you are back to the "Time" screen.

Try pulling the batteries out, set the clock to 5:45 then put the batteries back in. Set the time to 6:00 and count how many times it strikes. If it strikes 6 then your good. If it strikes a different number say 5, take the batteries back out, and set the clock to 4:45 then put the batteries back it, set clock to 5 and count the strike. Most quartz clocks reset their chimes to 5:00 when new batteries are installed regardless of the time shown on the face. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

Bulova wall clock hands won't move
I haven't much experience of this type of clock. A friend has such a quartz pendulum clock and I was surprised to discover the pendulum has no direct mechanical contact with the clock motor and as long as the motor draws some current from the battery the pendulum will swing due to the resulting influence of a small electromagnet.

I guess the quartz mechanism is at least electrically ok but somewhere there is a mechanical fault preventing the hands moving.

A typical quartz clock motor is fairly simple and dismantles easily to reveal only a few internal parts that can be examined under a magnifier to determine the probable fault - dust, burrs or excessive wear.

It is also worth making certain the clock hands do not bind on each other or the clock face.

Today is Tuesday, March 8. My Caravelle by Bulova watch says it is Wed March 10. How do I get this corrected since the only manual that came with the watch doesn't tell me anything. My watch is a square...
do not pull the stem all the way just half way out. Turn clock wises the date should move. move to correct date. counter clock wises for the day. For the analog hold down the set mode button until it starts to blinking to change number with the start and stop. to change what is blinking press the mode button

If it is a desk type clock, hold down the 'mode' button, then the up or down button till the time is correct. To set the alarm, hold down the alarm 'on' button til it flashes the time then the 'up' or 'down' button.

Curtis and Co. Big Time 3 zone watch w/ temp gauge. What does the stem positioned at aprox 10 O'clock control? It is near the temp guage but does not seem to control anything.
Crown(stem) at 10 O'clock has air inlet for temperature, does not move. Crown at 8 O'clock is for setting 3rd time zone next to it. The two buttons on the right of the case, above and below, set 2nd time zone which is at the 6 O'clock position of the large dial. To set #2 push top button till min. hand moves 1 min., then push bottom button to move 1 min each time or hold for rapid movement. Large crown sets date and large dial. Unscrew it (counterclockwise) then pull out to first click, then set date turning crown clockwise, continue to pull out till 3rd click which is where you set the time on the large dial.

I have a Sunbeam Westminster Quartz mantle clock I bought approx 17 yrs ago and after replacing the battery and setting the time again the clock stops after an hour or two. Any ideas of what the problem...
mcdevito75 here, Even a so-called new battery doesn"t really mean it"s NEW!! NEW!! in other words your NEW! battery could have been laying in a store for months before you bought it. Thes ebatteries have a shelf life of a few months, about 1 year with use in a clock / watch.---- Try another battery, also the quartz mechanism could be starting to wear., also double check the battery is installed correctly.

Pull the stem out 2 clicks the in 1 click turn stem clockwise for day and counter-clockwise for month. to set time pull stem out again 1 click, when finish push in 2 clicks

Dude, of course it stops during the night - it's a perpetual motion / kinetic watch. It doesn't have a conventional battery. When you move your arm (while wearing it), the natural motion of your arm will 'automagically' wind the watch. There's nothing wrong with it - these types of watches always have to be re-set in the morning if you don't wear it to bed (or you don't toss and turn in bed).
