Started getting Check Fan No 2 error message, so I ordered a new fan and replaced it. The new fan is still not spinning in back when turned on and I got the same message. Waited a week now and took another look but now the message includes fan 3 when I turn it on. Cannot change sources as everytime the message blinks it resets the menu.
What is Fan 3, and could both Fan 2's be bad? Or is it the actual board?
Have already replaced the lamp and the color wheel within the past year having a tech do both of those jobs (although I could have done the lamp myself after watching that).
When that happens it is not the fan, but it is the 12V circuit that is powering all fans that is bad.
If for example you have a short on fan 2 connector, this can start telling Check fan 2, then cut onboard circuit from fan 2 to fan 3 and it will end up prompting replace fan 3.
Another reason that can cause multiple fan errors is a faulty thermic sensor on DMD board.
Fan 3 is not always present, when it is installed, fan 3 will be attached to DMD board and its function will be cooling down the AC ballast board that supplies power to the lamp.
The message which the screen is showing is right .so replace the another fan and check out.if still the problem then replace the board is necessary.as if the board is faulty then also fan will not work.
and also yes its easy to replace the 12 v circuit.its just fitted on screws.

Thank you. Is the 12v circuit something that can be replaced easily? I have not heard this issue before. I have seen the possibility of the DMD board, but that would require a tech to come out and do the repair from what I have read, and we are not in a position right now to do that.
Solution is helpful. But still trying to find the correct part, and "how" to replace the board.
