Hi,

Just to let you know that i have solved the problem with my cooker, (clock flashing after electric going off) i held down the cook period button and the end time button, then i was able to reset the clock by pressing the +button.

SOURCE: The clock works but the oven does not heat up

Hello George, welcome to fixya.

The symptoms you describe are a common occurrence when the hi-limit has tripped. This typically occur's following a self clean cycle. The display will indicate the oven is indeed "on" but it will not heat do to the circuit being interrupted by the hi-limit ( which is what it was designed to do ).

Fortunately if it is tripped, they are the manual reset type and are accessible behind the black grill/vent just above the door and just below the control panel next to the lock latch assembly. **Turn off the 40amp breaker at your service panel or sub-panel in the home before attempting any service...safety first**

With the power off, you should be able to remove the grill and push the red button in the center of the thermostat and that should fix your problem...if indeed the hi-limit is tripped you`ll know immediately because you`ll feel it click as you push it down. The model number is usually located on the side of the door or on side of the oven cavity area near the door opening. Sometimes if you have a drawer or warmer the model number is located on the oven side of the drawer or warmer (sometimes not directly facing you but on the side of that area. If the oven is electronic you press a clock button or you hold one of those buttons for a couple of seconds like a start or set button. The model number though will help you find a user manual and it for sure should be clear. I hope this helps you.

No name on the oven so presume it's a Europa same as the cooktop. It won't move off 0:00 with automatics on the lefthand side showing.
Hi -

I'm assuming this is an Omega/Creda Europa oven. All you need to do to make the oven work again is set the clock. The 0:00 and "AUTO" will stop flashing and the oven will work again. You didn't specify a model number, but you should be able to set the clock as follows:

1. Hold down the two buttons on the left-hand side under the clock display. One should have a symbol of a bell and the other, a symbol of a cookpot (not a cookpot and 'STOP').
2. While still holding both of these buttons, use the + and - buttons to set the clock to the correct time. The clock needs to be set in 24 hour format.

If this doesn't work, look for the buttons under the clock with the bell symbol and the cookpot symbol. Hold both of these buttons in and use the + and - buttons to set the clock.

If this doesn't work or your clock doesn't have these buttons, let me know and I'll check for other possible methods of setting the clock on Europa ovens. If you can find the model number it would assist me greatly. This should be on a sticker on the rim of the oven and can only be seen when the oven door is open - possibly at the bottom. The model number should be something like 40-1, 60-1 or 66-1.

If you can't find the model number, please let me know how many buttons there are in total below the clock and which symbols are written above each button and the order from left to right. I will then be able to provide the correct instructions for your oven.

I have a Belling 492 SS built in double oven and the LED is barely visible. Can I purchase just the LED or would this necessitate replacing a complete clock/timer unit?
I'm afraid it means replacing the whole clock/timer unit, there is no otther way around the problem.

Most likley you have a bad erc control board ( clock). But a model number would help narrow it down.

The clock controls the ovens. In other words, directly you set any time on the clock, a contact operates within it to provide power to the ovens. (Normally the grill remains operational). You may need a new clock/timer. Before you do so, try switching the power off at the main isolating switch and leaving it off for a few mins, then switching it back on, to try to get the clock to operate. You may need to do this a few times.
Normally Stoves stick a label identifying the model on the left hand edge of the lower oven. You see this when you lower the main oven door. it will probably start with a 05 and be 9 digits long. With this number you can identify the oven and obtain parts.

Oven wont work but clock still works
First make sure you didn't trip a breaker. You could have power for the electronics on one side of the 220V and that is why the clock still works. Turn off the breaker and then back on even if it looks on. If it does this again you have a sever problem that will require a service call. If the breaker is tripping it could be other than the oven and if so a new one will work ok unless itsin your wiring.
