If there is only a couple of beeps and it boots up ok then there is no problem at all. There is a little speaker inside at the bottom of the tower.

This is an older WIFI driver that only works in XP, and in certain HP Pavilions, but try it.

and this is the Vista one that is correct for your laptop, it probably doesn't work in XP but if all else fails, you could try it. (You should really run Vista on it, I reckon)-----------------
