dvd players play vob or mp4 format. so try "convert x to dvd" software to burn your dvds in the right format http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/
The proper codec may not be loaded on your computer. Find the format your DVD recorder uses, Google for a codec for that format. Find a player that supports the code, download and install it onto your computer and then try the DVD.
some dvd players (outdated)..will not play these new dvd (recorded or pre-recorded dvd)...if you are recording dvd and wish to play on another dvd player (dvd player must be at least 2009)...same thing happen with my toshiba recorder...my jvc player works its (2008), but my sony dvd (2004) did not play any of the recorded dvds (only the store brought).....suggestion buy a not expensive dvd player (you just need it to play all that other features will push the price range up)
Hey,
Maybe the format of your recorded movie didnt support your player..check out your manual for the supported formats and check the format of your recorded movie. If any of the format in the manual matches your movie format then it will definitely play..
please rate my suggestion..
Not all DVD players will play a pre-recorded DVD that was made on a computer. These types are designed to play only what is called pressed DVD's.
When a CD or a DVD is recorded on a computer it is not really the same as when the media has been press recorded.
Most all of the new model DVD and CD players will play computer recorded media. When buying a player, it is important to make sure that the specs are what you need.
It can be several things. What type of DVD's do you have and how old are your players. Most older DVD players won't play the DVD+R format. When you said they played before was that in the recorder you used to make them? If so then most likely you failed to fina'ize them in the DVD recorder you used to make them. If you don't do that, they will ONLY play in the DVD recorder you used to copy them. If you did finalize them, it may be that, as said before, cheap discs dont work in any machines and DVD+R wont work in older players.
my suggestion from reading other forums is that these players sometimes have problems finalizing the disc.. you could try making a copy of the disc in a computer to see if this fixes the promlem or maybe media these use dvd+r and has a lot of compatibility issues with dvd players.
