How to fix up d5/5 and remove disc

I am not sure about the d5/5 error but you should be able to eject the disc by performing the following, which I took from my user manual.

Turn off the unit. Press and hold the [ >>/>>' ] and [ OPEN/CLOSE ] on the main unit at the same time for about 5 seconds.

Hope that helps.

Dvd player will not eject or play dvd. It just keeps spinning and says "reading." I've tried unplugging for 2 minutes, pushing close/open and stop at the same time(hold for at least 3 seconds)....

Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and turn the player ON. Attempt to open the disc tray. Depending on the model number of your DVD player, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons. If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons.6 Jan 2013

RCA RTD315 Theater System The DVD Player recently

My identical system has exactly the same problem as the one described by dipaola, above. When I insert a DVD, the DVD carriage pops back open after a few seconds. In fact, mine won't stay closed even without a DVD in it, as long as the system is set to play a DVD. I'd like an answer to the big Q - Is there anything I can do about this, or should I just find another DVD player to hook into the system?

Won't eject DVD

I was able to fix this problem by disconnecting the Bose power cord from the back of the unit. When I reconnected it the door functioned again. Cleaning the disc helped avoid further lock ups.
