I have a yamaha natural sound av receiver rx-v373,it will not tern on,i have tried the tone control+straight and power all it does is make a click nose....there is no light neather.....please help i love my amp.

Sounds like one of you amp IC's might be bad. When you use the button combo, it is probably turning on, detecting a short, and shutting off immediately.

My receiver just shut off while watching a movie and won't turn back on. I checked the only fuse i could find. Where to go from here.

Press and hold the "straight" and "Tone control" buttons and press power. This should release the protect lock that the receiver is in. If it shuts back off immediately, then you most likely have a blown amp that will need to be repaired.

How to I tell if my receiver is dead?

It sounds like it is dead, check the manual.

Be sure you have mains power to the receiver, it sounds like that failed. A loose plug or blown fuse could cause that type of problem as well. Here are a few links that may help.

How do you hook up a powered sub woofer to a receiver? I have a Yamaha rx v373 and pluggd in a Yamaha yst-fsw050 and do not get any sound out of it, why?

The Yamaha has probably got a setting to switch off the subwoofer port. Look up speaker settings in the user manual.

No audio from my rx v373

hdmi cable does both vid and sound so you should be ok if you have used this way to connect. if you have used rca connection try using another red white yellow cable cause they are cheap and break easy.

Trying to hook up my wii but have sound and no picture I have HDMI cable from tv to yamaha v373 amp and trying to connect the red white and yellow cables to back of amp

Need to put yellow cable into monitor in and choose a input with video vcr, tv, or dvd. still no luck then yellow directly to tv.

Need manufacturer's setup code for Yamaha AV Receiver RX-V373

Using 1056B03 universal remote from Time Warner. Several codes actually will turn the unit off and allow volume control. Or..I can turn on and volume control. Can't do both. I tried to use the receiver codes in the vcr mode, but the remote rejects receiver codes (i.e. only accepts vcr codes).

It looks like one or the other, not both.

My blu ray stopped working through tuner. It has worked for the year or two that I've used the tuner. Yesterday I tried to watch a movie and got nothing. I tried another HDMI cable from Blu ray direct to tv: works. I tried switching cables from tuner to tv: still didn't work.

Won't power on to play Unit does not power on if just using power button. If I select Straight, Tone Control, and Power, then it powers up to a menu that first says "analog bypass." Trying the factory reset does nothing. What else can I try?
