Question about Insignia 32" 720p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV

1 Answer

I have an Insignia 42" LCD HD tv model# T420HW04.

I have an Insignia 42" LCD HD tv model# T420HW04. The colors are way out. Blue hair, etc. Tried all adjustments and reset button. Tried connecting to another working cable source with same result. This started after coming home from vacation. There was a lightning storm here while we were gone but didn't appear that power had been out. I cannot locate a wiring diagram online. I see nothing obvious internally like a damaged capacitor or resistor. Any ideas? Neil

It sounds that the white balance adjustment is misaligned. You have to enter its service mode to re-adjust this. If you're sound in electronics, and wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.
Without any knowledge in electronics, nobody cant do this adjustment correctly. Enter the service mode, if you're confident.

SOURCE: Insignia LCD HD tv with "No Signal/VGA input"

Your Television need to be reset. Take the back off carefully, locate your picture lamp, somewhere in that area should be your reset button. Your television needs to be powered on, so be very carefull not to touch anything other than the reset button, hold the button in until your TV goes blank, then release and put your cover back on. That's it, your TV should be back to normal. You might have to run your setup again.

SOURCE: insignia tv will not powerup

Nothing at all? Does the screen seem to go from dark black to a lighter shade of black?

If the screen appears to stay on the darker shade of black then it is broken, and needs to be sent for repair. ( ie the screen isnt powering on when the tv is and there is nothing you can do without opening it.

You might try unplugging all cables and leaving it off with no power for a day This is in effect performing a factory reset.

and this may sound stupid and patronizing but is the TV being taken out of standby mode and actually switched on?

Philips LCD HDTV -- color problems

I am having the same issue. I believe the issue to be somewhere in the transition between HD channels and non HD channels. A work around is to switch the input to another input such as DVD and then switch back to your cable input (mine is the HDMI input). I'm probing the web looking for why this happens and if there IS a permanant fix.
