Cmos battery problem

If you change the Date and Time and when you next boot up your computer the Date changes to some previous date then the CMOS/BIOS battery is flat and it needs to be replaced. Most motherboard use a 3 volt coin size lithium battery type CR2032 you need to check which type od BIOS battery your motherboard uses.

Battery low message always

Which battery did you change? The battery on the bottom of the laptop? Wrong battery, sounds like it is your CMOS Battery that is attached to the motherboard.

CMOS SETTINGS CANNOT SAVED

Try changing the CMOS battery.

Go to any half decent supermarket or electronics store and ask for a CR2032 coin cell battery.

open your computer case and find the exact same battery somewhere on the motherboard and change/swap them over. There should be a silver retainer clip holding the battery in to its housing, release this clip and insert new battery.

My computer is changing the time back to 31/12/02 every time its turned on

Your motherboard backup battery is gone.
This is a watch type battery mounted on the motherboard that powers the chip (CMOS) that retains basic information (BIOS) about your computer while it is turned off.
The battery is gone and not holding the time and date.
The battery is very easy to change, do you have a tower computer or a laptop and are you OK with looking inside the case for the battery?

Time settings

Hi,
The Time And date Settings.
Are held Within The CMOS Battery.
This is usually on the Motherboard. ( Looks like a small round silver Coin )
They are quite easy to replace, usually about 3v-3.3volts.
Don,t change the CPU Or motherboard.
Just the Battery.
