SOURCE: "Processing Auto Configuration" keeps showing up on my screen.

I have the same problem. I turn on the computer and get the message box "Processing Auto Configuration" blinking in the middle of my screen. I can keep using it or working on it, but it is very annoying. Whenever the message box pops up, the screen jiggles. I have tried to adjust the OSD but that doesn't seem to do anything and I cannot seem to use the Auto/Set button on the monitor or at least it doesn't seem to do anything. I have gone into troubleshooting the monitor, but get or find nothing there to help. I would appreciate a fix to this problem.

SOURCE: Monitor will not turn off and keeps flashing the words Auto processing

Az,

My monitor is an hp pavilion f1503, at least 4yrs old.

And yes, I did push the power button, repeatedly (the first few months that this happened, not every few seconds). And now, again, it won't shut off at all. I'm pretty much thinking I'm screwbied until such a time when I want to go spend the bux on a new monitor, and by that time a new pc as well!

The only way to get the menu to stop blinking on and off is to slide a piece of plastic (like a keyring discount card) on top of the Menu button on the monitor. Otherwise, menu keeps popping up, and it goes directly to the brightness/contrast submenu, and then adjusts itself from +100 to -0, on the brightness. It's just possessed.

Seriously.

On the right hand side of montior the is a screen

There might be a tool on your computer about that, you can check the utilities programs on your computer by searching in the Program groups of your Start menu and disable it. Your manual may give you some idea how to disable it. If you right click on that pop up window you might see an option to stop it from popping up. If those are not working, press CTL+ALT+DEL and select the task manager, then kill the process with a similar name. But you don't want to kill too much otherwise other applications may be affected too. Hope that helps.

Monitor will not turn off and keeps flashing the words Auto processing

it is not a bad rom. if it was a rom it would constantly act up but it only acts up upon overheating. The solution is difficult but if you open the monitor you can find all of the heatsinks take them of and replace them with bigger ones. or have a fan blowing on it at all time it is active i added bigger heatsinks to my emachine le1799 and it solved this problem of pulling up menu and changing setting by itself and the lack of the ability to turn power of.
