Hey it's easier to just do it manually that try to look all over the world for a number. On your remote- hold the set code button until it stays on then hit the T. V button once. The light should still be steady. Now hit the power button repeatedly. You can also hit the Chanel +\- the pwr. Bttn is more accurate I think. But as soon as your tv shuts off hit enter. Be sure not to pwr. Smash the pwr. Bttn
You may find it at remotes.com but no one here can tell you anything you need since you didn't tell us both the TV and the remote's model numbers.
If your TV is 42". the model number shown isn't yours.
The only viewsonic codes I know are 0805 , and 1783, if these dont work try the internet for sky codes. be aware you may have to wait and try again for codes to catch up. pete
No one can give you the code for an unnamed remote and if the remote is several years old, it will not have the code set available for more recently manufactured TVs.
If you can locate the remote's model number, go to remotes.com and look for the link for codes; you will have a choice between 'original' or so-called 'universal' remotes.
BTW, there is no such thing as a 'universal' remote; they are at best multi-brand/multi-device remotes.
I had the same problem with a Viewsonic N3735W LCD TV and Comcast Customer DVR 3 Device remote. I contacted Viewsonic and they gave me 11454 which works.
