Hotpoint Ultima Extra WMA66

Whenever I switch the machine on is causes a power failure in the house. There are no signs of burning or damage to any of the electricals but as soon as you start a programme it will short the house fuse within seconds. Any ideas? Tks

As above. Blows trip in house. Engineers thought heater.... no.......thought motor brushes..... no... Motor armature at fault. needs whole new motor. not good on a low regular use three year machine! Is it worth fixing or replacing the whole machine?

Something is shorting out direct, remove plug from power supply and test each item, element / pump / main motor etc for down to earth, replace the affected item

Fault F 02

F02 is listed as a motor

jammed or tacho failure.

Check that the motor is not siezed or damaged. Try turning the drum by hand. Does it turn easily and freely? Are there any strange noises from the motor area?

Check for broken wires from the motor plug to the main control board.

Check the main control board for signs of damage or burning.

Check that all plugs are firmly seated on the control board and into the motor.

If there's nothing obviously wrong I'd check the carbon brushes in the motor.

After that, if it's all checked out ok, time for the engineer.

As it could be costly on parts, ie. possibly a motor and a main pcb.

E15 code on display of Hotpoint ultima extra WD72.

E15 means that it is not draining fast enough. As well as checking the outlet pipes, check the filter leading to the pump. Disconnect the power and pipe. If possible take outside because there will be a residual amount of water. Remove the back panel, then disconnect the locking rings holding the tubes on. Your main target should be the big downflow rubber tube from the drum, in here is a plastic filter. In mine I found a child's sock... plus slime. Problem solved.

Sounds like the PCB is Freaking out. All you can do is Check all the connections between the Main board and Display board and if you still have the problem - then i'm afraid it is probably the Main Board gone Faulty.

Hotpoint Ultima extra WD72

There are 3 possibilities 1 altough the water as drianed the pressure switch as not released due to blocake in the filter, or the interlock has jammed on the closed position which means it will have to forced open or the last fault could be the power board has gone.
