The Janome Memory Craft 3000 uses a low shank snap-on presser foot with a presser foot holder for most of its standard presser feet. See page 17 (page 19 of the PDF) of the User Manual available from Janome on the retired machine support page: https://www.janome.com/support/retired-machine-manuals/ . For specific presser feet that originally came with the machine, see page 3 of the manual (page 5 of the PDF). Found the manual for waltons celestial 877. It was rebranded to frister + rossmann (model number 900, 902, 904, 906)

Some old machines didn't have an "on" button. Have you tried just pressing the foot pedal?
