I purchased this computer, 2 gig memory last year. I had just put in Norton and it is running SUPER slow. How can I reset this computer to run normal? This is not the laptop

I have known several people who have had similar issues with norton, It seems to be quite resource hungry, if you really want to keep norton then I would suggest a RAM upgrade to give your machine more power, alternatively, you could try another antivirus, I use Microsoft Security Essentials and it works well for me.

However, check to see if norton is running a system scan, this will almost definately make your machine run slower.

Glad to help YOU!

I'd suggest you to download and to install REVO UNINSTALLER (it can be found HERE, scroll down and choose the FREE VERSION; or - if you want to buy it - you can choose REVO UNINSTALLER PRO...). It's a FREE software that does a great job!
After you will install it you double-click on the icon and on the main window you will see the applications currently installed on your machine; select Norton application and click on UNINSTALL (upper side of the window) and then select ADVANCED (the last option in the bottom). Let the REVO do its uninstall and click NEXT and SELECT ALL and when it's done select FINISH. That's it!
This software not that will uninstall the application(s) but will also clean the REGISTRY of the leftovers.

My best wishes!

I didn't get my 1 year protection of norton 360 version 4.0 for my netbook,,,instead i just get the 30 days trial protection,,, how can i get my 1 year norton??

You need to activate your Norton program with the product key or the renewal code that you purchased for an year.

To enter the renewal code or the serial, please open your Norton product and click on the "RENEW" or "ACTIVATE" or "SUBSCRIBE" button on the bottom of your product and enter it there to activate your one year subscription.

Hello
Here is procedure to activate Norton Internet Security
1. Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet. 2. Launch Norton Internet Security via your desktop icon or the Start Menu (All Programs > Norton Internet Security folder) If Norton Internet Security doesn't appear in the Start Menu, it means the software was removed. 3.It is recommended to create a Norton Account in order to manage your Norton products, get the latest product updates and access special offers.
Enter your email address.

3.A. If you already have a Norton Account tied to this email address, you will be asked to enter your password 3.B. If this is the first time you create Norton Account, you will be asked to enter some personal information. 4. Your Norton Account has been created. The next steps will guide you through the process to activate your full year product. 5. On the bottom-right corner of the Norton product window, click Subscribe. 6. Type in your Product Key. The Product Key is a unique 25-character alpha numeric key which was sent to you in the order confirmation email you received. 7. Click on the triangle next to the product key field. 8. You're done! Is this good antivirus?

I get my best buys from Purplus, usually get Norton for about $30 a year. Hate Norton, too pushy. AVG not much better. Next I check the others. Don't buy an old security, you won't get updates.
