Our copier/printer seems to print fine directly from the printer, and does ok with copying pictures/clip art. But when it comes to an all text document, it copies very lightly, and gets lighter with each copy. (For example, one copy is light, but when doing 30, the last one is barely visable.) I talked with Canon, and tried to adjust settings. Nothing worked. They say it is the toner. But it copies pictures ok. Any ideas or suggestions?

There are two contact on the right wall off the printer cartridge chamber area. They can get pushed in causing the printer cartridge to not read correctly. Take a small Flathead screwdriver and bend them up so the cartridge ink level can be read.
I have called canon with this problem more than once and they keep telling me that I am using a "paper" that is not supported. I finally gave up and ended up telling them that I am now going to use my cheap HP printer because it can do what it's suppose to.
