I've had this same problem with multiple cameras. Try purchasing a new battery. The original batteries don't seem to hold a charge at all. I've solved the problem by purchasing an external battery charger and two batteries. When I notice one gets low, I switch and am all set... My students usually give me a heads up when it's time too.
