Hello MaryRoth,
Photos are fuzzy due to many reasons and the main two reasons are that the subject is out of focus or the subject or the hand shake during the time of taking the snap.
Please make sure that you select appropriate picture modes (Macro, Portrait, Landscape etc..) when taking snaps. Make sure that when you press the click button half-a-way (known as AE mode), the subject is still in focus.
Try using a Tripod stand in case the hand is not steady or try increasing the shutter speed if its an SLR camera. That should help.

Let me know if that works.

Regards,
Srinivas

    Hi Mayroth,
I am sorry if the previous answer was inappropriate ... I would like to gather some more information about the problem so that I have better understanding of the issue.
May I get the model number of the camera and could you please attach a sample picture with the details like the model, lighting conditions, Flash ON/OFF etc..? That would help me to assist you better.

    Regards,
    Srinivas

There are some reasons why your photos are fuzzy:

1. Camera shake.
2. Motion blur.
3. Missed focus.
4. Air quality.
5. Subject too far away.
6. Light quality.
7. Misaligned focusing system.
8. Shallow depth of field.

Black fuzzy spot in pictures

Have you verified that it is in the picture and not the screen by transferring the photos to your computer?

You way have some dust or lint that got on the lens if the photos have that problem.

Just take an eyeglass cloth and spray wither eyeglass cleaner, or just a little dab of alcohol and then wipe the lens clean.

How do I reduce the 'noise' in my photos - they are in focus but almost fuzzy? Ihave a canon S3IS

Zooming in too far will make your photo appear fuzzy if your camera has Digital Zoom.
For more info on Digital Zoom: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_zoom

Also low levels of light may degrade the quality of the image(depending on your settings)

Canon Powershot SLR takes fuzzy photos

Guys,
you need additional flash or brighter light to click in low lighting condition. In order to compensate for low light conditions, the shutter goes slow and therefore you get fuzzy pictures.

Another way is to click on movie(video) mode and then atleast you can see them moving around as well as while editing, you could take out some pictures from the video( though on lmuch ower resolution).
