I have labtop HP Compaq nx7300 since 18 months and suddenly stop reading any DVD or CD but it is shown in my computer and device manger, but it is ejected manually or by command EJECT normally.
means only not reading
is it problem with lenses or driver or what? any help please?
Normally no drivers are needed for CD drives other than the ones built into Windows. It might be a dirty lens that is causing the trouble. When the tray opens on a laptop CD drive the lens is exposed and can get touched or exposed to dirt. Try gently cleaning it with a cotton swab to brush off the lens. If the problem continues, the laser may have worn out and is too weak to read now. You can find replacement drives online, or use a USB plug-in external drive.
