Cropping a photo that I have uploaded from a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2

You have to change the lens assembly, if you are lucky enough to buy the parts cheap on ebay. If it is contact resistance problem, you can just pat it in any direction to see if the image is improved.

Go into the menu and find "filters". Black and white is one of the choices.

Sounds like you lost the connection to the sensor.

I had a camera with this problem once - a friend took some photos at the beach and filled it with sand!

Try obtaining some compressed air and blasing it out.
A little WD40 (directed with care) should get that lens cover closing nicely, provided there is no debris.

Click and open MyComputer window, connect and turn on your camera, wait for a while, if you can one more icon(maybe a folder, maybe a camera) show up, click and open it. You’ll find your pictures there. Just select, copy/paste or drag the pictures to wherever you want.

go on the panasonic web site. they might have free downloads there. e-mail them if not.
