Blue tint...then unresponsive...only 5 months old

Acer Ferrari F-22....relatively brand new at 5 months old. This morning the screen had blue-ish tint to it...thought maybe the kids had messed with it. As soon as I clicked the mouse, the monitor screen went black...power still on. I re-started the computer, and the power to the monitor 'sort of' came on in that the power button lit up...but no other controls lit up. Totally unresponsive. I switched it out with an old Packard Bell 13" (ugh!) for test purposes and the computer seems to work fine? Driver issue due to possible update I'm not aware of?...or did my nice monitor just leave me in the dirt? Win Vista Ultimate 64-bit

You're probably lucky that this happened now. You're most likely still covered under warranty. Contact Acer support and arrange a swap. If your pc works okay with another monitor there's no point in troubleshooting further. Get that monitor switched before the warranty runs out.

I have an old Toshiba TV and was going to replace it with a new plasma because it has suddenly (the week of July 19, 2010) lost color. It has only green and blue tint. Changing the "tint" on the menu didn't help. The color comes and goes relative to nothing that I can measure, such as how long it is turned on, etc. Reading other complaints from owners of Plasmas, I am thinking it is cable related. I have Charter Cable. Playing a DVD, I have to readjust the tint back to normal. Hope this info gives clues.

Check the color settings in the on-screen menu. You can choose between "Warm", "Cool" and "User". Maybe you used the "Warm" setting before and somehow it got changed to "Cool".
If this is not the case, you can try the "User" mode and reduce the intensity of the blue channel.
If even black areas show a blue tint, maybe running an auto configuration from the menu helps.
As a last resort, use the "Reset" menu item which resets all settings to factory defaults.

Acer ferrari 3500 problem

Your video card in the laptop is failing. If you remove it, reapply new thermal paste and clean it all out while you are in there it may be fine.
Heat will cause all of your stated issues, as well as doing damage to the video card.
Laptops have a habit of building up dust and hair on the fins of the heatsinks causing them to bocome blocked and should be cleaned every 6 months at least.
