Toggle through the Display button (DISP) above the menu button. This will turn the screen on and display more options.

Tap (knock) on the cameras all sides except the one with buttons (power off).

It appears the back light might be burned out. If you hold a flash light at a sharp angle to the LCD you should see whats on the screen. The only fix is get a junk camera off ebay and replace screen and backlight.

Black lcd screen

I could not find an online manual, but most cameras have an option to shut off the LCD screen when taking pictures. Check this in your manual, there's a great chance this is the problem. If not, you have to seek professional help

Kodak C643 Screen black

One way out of the glare is to use the optical viewfinder (if your camera has one) to preview your image instead of the LCD. Another possibility is to buy a camera that has a backlit LCD.

Kodak CX7330. turns on but LCD screen is black and won't take a pic

It sounds like a bad connection on the ribbon cable of the LCD screen to the camera's motherboard. The fact that when you physically move the camera around and you can get the screen to then work, tells me something is loose inside.

Good luck!

you camera shutter is stuck at close position, you will need to open

As for the totally dark screen, either your LCD or driver board is bad. You will need to open and replace the broken part.

I have the exact same problem. Casio wants the camera mailed in and charges $79 for a new LCD screen (if that is the problem). Any other suggestions?

Viewing is fine, taking pictures is not

This sounds like what started happening with my camera a few weeks ago. I found that turning the LCD screen off during picture-taking allows me to take pictures. I then have to go into review mode to look at the pictures I took using the LCD screen. Definitely not a great fix. I'm trying to locate a firmware upgrade that may solve it.
