I have a NSM Performer Grand II jukebox. Everything works on it except for playing CD's. It loads the cd onto the spindle then it unloads it after about 4 seconds. The cd never rotates. I've watch it without a cd in the way and I can see the laser shine up through the optical lens and then it turns off a second. , the laser pickup remains in its inner most position, and its armature never moves. I can also see the optical lens raise up and down a little bit while the laser is lite up. After a second or so the laser goes off and It removes the cd. Anyone have any ideas about what the problem? Is the cd suppose to spin up during this stage, or does the laser try to detect a cd first? I've never thought I'd be trying to fix a cd player, but after seeing the price for a new one I think I'll try anything first.

This is doc-fix. The C D motor is supposed to spin spin, at all times when selection. then the C D record makes selection.
in that sequence.
See if motor spins by finger twirl? Is it turn 3,or 4 turns?
if it is binding on the black plastic, then that has to be corrected. if the motor is getting no power (electric power)
then there will be no spinning. need a diagram , showing how
motor power goes into the C D HEAD TO MEASURE VOLTAGE???
