You can use the defualt for crative works great in unbuntu or change out your sound card as its too old anyhow just two suggests dont shoot the messanger be nice a rate me baised on how fast i reponeded as soon as i saw you problem with was 6-19/2009 @ 11pm pacific

You did not specify the problem here, friend. But I think the problem might be the sound or the input microphone or headset...
If you hear no sound or voice you suspect first the headset or the speaker. Try to use good speaker and or headset to know if there is no problem within those device. If you hear nothing...the problem is the sound card and you need to replace the sound card with new

I need sound card driver for creative 1938-4ch
1st Download Driver from this site Creative Sound Driver
Installation of Sound Card.
  • Go to the control panel
  • Click on the System Icon
  • Click on the Hardware Tab
  • Click on the Device Manager then
  • Select the Multimedia Controller or Audio Control the yellow Question Marks sign on it.
  • Right click on Multimedia Controller and uninstall it.
  • After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
  • Driver installation Wizard start.
  • Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
  • Driver will be install.
