Monitor going to power save mode and freezing

Hi I have a dell dimension 4600 P4 3.0 ghz, with a dell 1504FP monitor. I use NVidia GeForce FX 5200 video card. I run Windows XP SP3 . All was working well until now when I turn the PC on after a few secs or min the screens blanks out and monitor says it's in power save mode. I've tried to uninstall video card drivers and install new ones, but PC picks up old ones automatically. Can you help. Thanks

Hi, i have had that problem before and its wasn't the graphics card drivers, it was loose, anyway for you case go to device manager and uninstall the graphics drivers from there then restart and install then manual by updating and locate the exact location from the cd or any other location that has them.
That should help
Cheers

well, I was experiencing this scenario too (i searched nvidia and intel ssd drive issues), and my fix was physical, inside the desktop, a thick wire was laying on fan that exists on the 8800 video card, so when it couldn't spin, my dual monitors would shut off. I'm glad I didn't cook the electronics. I assume it's a safety feature to keep from destroying the card. All is well now. (I thought it was insuffucient power supply, settings, factory reset on monitors). Took me a while.

My monitor has gone to Power Save Mode

Hello,
If your monitor is going in Power save mode it can be cause by following reasons.
>Check the data cable going from monitor to your Dell Dimension 4600 Tower is connected properly. The connector will be blue or white in colour.
>If the Dell Dimension 4600 Tower is powering on.

If still in power save mode then try to shutdown Tower and monitor, disconnect power cable from tower and monitor.Hold the power button on tower for 15 seconds. Then again try to connect monitor and check,if still nogo, and if tower has no lights then issue with motherboard or video card or power supply. If possible try connect spare known good monitor.

Thankyou

Having problems installing a Geforce fx5500 on my dell deminsion

sounds like yo had the same Problems that I had with my 5200 geforce The install did not go well. what was happening was the direct x was binding to the old mother board graphics system and not the new card . to make it rebind just change the refresh rate in the nvidia icon in your task bar . disable the display adapter from device manager for the motherboard graphics .put the card in the slot change the monitor cord boot up check you direct x by typing in run dxdiag and test directx to be sure it is running with your card you can also see that from the about nvidia you must have the driver for the card installed to do all this.. hope I helped  install the driver first then disable download latest drivers here http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index5.aspx?lang=en-us

Monitor is vibrating

You will be having with a strong magnetic field very close to the monitor. It could be speakers , Power supply of the speakers , UPS or the CPU itself. Try and getting some distance between the magnetic field. Shutdown the comp completely do the shifting and then restart and see

Nvidia fx 5200

The only time that this can happen is if the driver is not installed correctly, as on install you are normally asked if you want to activate support for dual monitors, so if you havent already, uninstall the card driver, restart and install driver again from the cd or from the NVIDIA website. http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.html If you have already tried this my apologies.
