you will need to use skype or any other messaging or communications software for that, google it then download

Here is HP's download site.
Just select your operating system,
click next,
click "CD-ROM order page - CD/DVDs",
click "CD - HP Deluxe Webcam Software",
then you can order the cd online or over the phone.

Yes, the camera is compatible with Windows 7. You will need to download and install the new drivers from HP. You can find the drivers here:

Be sure and download/install the drivers before plugging the camera in. This will guarantee a flawless install.
